This role helps us to join in the effort to combat food insecurity in our community and prevent homelessness by providing material resources to Mission guests and students. The basic purpose of this position is to assist and support the needs of Hope Supply Warehouse operations by performing your duties and meeting the daily operation's needs.

The Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for receiving, unloading, processing and recording food and material donations. Provides quality control and processes work orders for our navigation sites deliveries. Performs administrative duties such as typing, filing, excel forms and inventory control through our Pantry Soft Software. Works directly and coordinates projects with volunteers and SER employees for food distribution or material donations tasks. Participates in cleaning, organizing and overall daily projects of the warehouse operations.

  • Ensure quality in the process of food retrieval and separation, counting and re-distribution of food donations.
  • Leads and assists in food distribution loading/unloading of vehicles as needed
  • Assists in inventory control and quality control of products
  • Provides training and supervises students/volunteers/SER employees
  • Handles food with safety procedures.
  • Assist in forklift driving, warehouse maintenance/cleanup and organizing
  • Will interact with all agency members, staff and volunteers with a spirit of cooperation.
  • Will assist with administrative duties as needed (i.e. daily and monthly reports)
  • Loads and unloads trucks, transports pallets of materials with forklift and weights food LBS
  • Follows safety warehouse operations rules and procedures.
  • Must wear professional clean attire to represent SDRM.
  • Leads and oversees volunteer projects.
  • Performs daily, weekly and monthly warehouse safety checklist.
  • The warehouse coordinator performs and trains staff, students and volunteers within safety guidelines such as safety lifting procedures, usage of operating equipment properly, water spills and caution signs, takes corrective action to trip hazards and stays visible from all blind spots.
  • The incumbent must work in hot and cold environments including freezer and cooler needs.
    • Sorts clothing, shoes, hygiene, food, undergarments etc. NEW and USED donations.
    • Performs daily Inventory data entry in Pantry Soft Software
    • Assists in warehouse organizing and clean up including staff restrooms and break rooms
      QUALIFICATIONS

      Education: Minimum high school diploma

      Experience: Minimum two years full-time work experience in a warehouse environment, including inventory management and control experience. Knowledge of inventory and warehousing technology and methodology preferred. Able to manage a diverse environment with focus on customer service. Previous experience with the homeless, substance abusers, mentally ill and /or dually diagnosed preferred. Nonprofit experience preferred.

      Skills and Abilities: General, hands-on computer experience with basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook); typing (min 35 wpm); coordinate and/or direct a variety of complex tasks and assignments simultaneously and successfully; exercise good judgment and make sensible decisions; attentive to detail; prioritize effectively; effective oral and written communication skills; eagerness to learn and be trained; work both independently and as part of a team; provide information to public by answering questions and requests; regular, timely attendance. Outdoor Forklift and standup electric forklift driving experience and ability to operate a baler machine.
