DESCRIPTION

In partnership with the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager acts as “second in command” ensures customer satisfaction, supports staff to drive sales, maximizes productivity and compliance with company procedures. They are accountable for leading daily store operations and driving results by motivating and inspiring their team to achieve KPI goals.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a leader within the team when General Manager is not present or available
  • Drives key sales metrics, trains and develops team, maintains store culture, and assists with operational responsibilities
  • Helps maintain store staffing levels by assisting with recruiting, hiring, training, and developing employees
  • Reviews goals, expectations, and initiatives for team; inspires and leads the team to achieve results effectively, timely, and accurately
  • Observe the sales floor and make sure the business is running effectively and smoothly in a clean, stocked, and presentable store
  • Perform all opening and closing procedures to company standards
  • Follow all cash handling procedures and issue register audits
  • Helps develop the team product knowledge skills and remain aware of current collections that are in-store and on-line, cascade and train information to the broader team with corporate partner
  • Assist in evaluating performance of all team members and provide consistent coaching where service and selling are top priorities; create and modify action plans for the continuous development of staff
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen; participate in store forecasts, plans and budgets
  • Assists in team's compliance of all company policies, procedures, security guidelines and expense control


EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • 3-4 years of sales management experience preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 30lbs and be on your feet for long periods of time
  • Excellent organizational, decision making, problem solving, multi-tasking, follow-up, and teambuilding skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with confidence to both internal and external customers as well as corporate partners
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule which will include nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Financial and Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results
