Job Description:

Learn the different type of cables and how to identify them. Knowledge of basic hand tools utilized for the trade. Introduction to equipment hook up and processing. Introduction to cable install and close out requirements. Basic knowledge of electrical verbiage. Performs duties at the discretion of the Lead Worker. Duties include supplying and holding material and tools; cleaning work area and equipment, assisting Electrical Tradesperson accomplish assigned task. Provides Fire prevention activities for Hot Work operations. Hire will be required to join the IBEW Union.

Essential Functions:

• Provides unskilled help to Tradesperson in accomplishment of assigned Tasks.


• Moves material and equipment necessary to fulfill job requirements.


• Inspects and arranges temporary lighting for acceptable illumination of work area.


• Ensure work area is free of slip or trip hazards.


• Performs fire prevention activities during hot work operations.


• Perform other related duties as assigned.


• Must be able to fulfill job requirements as directed by management.

• High school graduate or equivalent, and minimum one (1) years shipboard Electrical experience


• Minimum of 1 year as a trainee C.
