After School Program Associate

  2025-03-23     BrightBee     all cities,CA
Description:

Who We Are:

BrightBee is an educational technology startup revolutionizing how K-12 schools recruit and engage with support staff. Our mission is to create a future where schools thrive and workers have the support they need to prosper and grow. We believe in unlocking the potential of every school team member, no matter where they started their career journey.

How BrightBee Works:

You'll be an essential part of our dynamic workforce as an independent contractor, ready to respond and commute to on-site work opportunities at nearby K-12 schools and nonprofits via the BrightBee app. You'll be able to pick which work assignments match your experience, preferences, and schedule and will never have to take on an assignment that you don't feel is a fit for you.

We Are Looking For:

We're looking for enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about working with children and aligned with our mission to support students, schools, and workers. Candidates should have experience with special needs populations and K-12 students, strong communication skills, and the flexibility to adapt to different classroom settings. An associate's degree or passing score on the ParaPro Assessment is required. Reliable transportation is required, and all applicants must complete background checks and necessary clearances-with our support throughout the process.

A Day in the Life of an After School Program Associate

Your day kicks off by welcoming students into a safe, supportive space after school. You'll help them settle in, supervise activities, and offer a hand with homework when needed. Whether you're leading a fun group activity, lending a listening ear to a student who needs support, or making sure everyone follows program rules, you're creating a positive environment where kids can thrive. You'll also stay in touch with parents and teachers, keep accurate attendance and behavior records, and make each afternoon count for the students in your care.

Must Haves:

  • Experience working with K-12 students, including those with special needs, and a passion for supporting student growth and school communities
  • Strong communication skills and adaptability to various classroom environments and student needs
  • Associate's degree or passing score on the ParaPro Assessment is required, plus reliable transportation and ability to complete required background checks and clearances (support provided)

Why You'll Love Working With Us

  • Competitive Pay: The starting rate for this role is $19-24/hour with regular multipliers. The more you take on, the more you earn! After your 5th assignment worked, you will earn a $50 bonus. After your 25th assignment you'll raise 10% and can earn up to 40% of your base pay over time.
  • Total Flexibility: Set your own schedule and work as much-or as little-as you want. Claim daily assignments through our app to match your availability.
  • Room to Grow: Build your experience, sharpen your skills, and explore a variety of roles to support your professional development.
  • Bee-longing: Join a buzzing community where you're not just a worker-you're part of the hive (and yes, we love bee puns).
