Job Summary
The San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) is recruiting for a Substitute Outdoor Education Cabin Leader in the Outdoor Education Program. Cuyamaca Outdoor School is located in the beautiful, 25,000 acre, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park in east San Diego County.
Under general supervision, provides overnight supervision of students in the cabins at the outdoor education schools; initiates and oversees recreational, social, and group living activities. Applicants must be able to work with a wide variety of people and personalities and fit into an existing team structure. Punctuality, attendance, patience and a strong work ethic are critical for success in this program. Work hours range from 7:30 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday nights.
Requirements / Qualifications
A combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to experience (paid or volunteer) working in an instructional, community, clinic, or home setting with elementary or middle school-aged children. Experience with outdoor education programs, camps or youth group activities is highly desirable.
CPR and first-aid certification (or approved higher certification) certified by the American Red Cross/American Heart Association required before starting work.
