We are looking for you to join our team as a Director, Mission Assurance 1 based out of San Diego, CA

The Mission Assurance (MA) Director is responsible for establishing and leading the Quality & Mission Assurance (QMA) function for Networked Information Solutions Division (NIS). The NIS division is a leading global provider, manufacturer, and integrator of advanced, secure, and agile software-defined systems and solutions.

As a key leader and essential member of the NIS leadership team, the MA Director will lead a large QMA team responsible for facilitating a continuous improvement culture focused on increasing affordability, technology insertion, process effectiveness and efficiency, audit and compliance, and personnel development. Additional responsibilities include executing, monitoring, and reporting on the health and quality of the various systems, products, and services.

Qualified candidates will have demonstrated success leading broad organizations within cost and schedule while achieving a high level of employee engagement. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of solving complex problems through systematic and objective evaluation of information resulting in effective communication, championing, and implementation of change with a diverse set of internal and external customers and suppliers.

What you will get to do:

  1. Define and monitor program specifications, quality metrics, audit metrics, and processes to ensure mission success.

  3. Maintain the highest level of commitment to quality, compliance, and internal controls in adherence to company values and ethics.
  4. Provide clear assignments, help employees connect their efforts to the organization's strategy, create an inclusive work environment characterized by mutual respect and the valuing of differences, and build a culture that motivates employees to their highest levels of performance.
  5. Assure compliance policies and procedures are strictly adhered to across all functions and all phases of the program life cycle.
  6. Leverage comprehensive metrics, customer and employee feedback to assess program performance and risks and determine resources to ensure mission success.
  7. Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and performance standards.
  8. Responsible for the preparation of proposals for the Quality & Mission Assurance team.
  9. Frequent interface with executives and customer representatives including on-site DCMA representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and contractual clarifications.
  10. Thought leader influencing and impacting strategy for the program and Quality & Mission Assurance organization while also driving innovative change.
  11. Responsible for developing and implementing Capital Equipment, NCTA, and MTA plans for the department.
  12. Regularly requires analysis of alternative courses of action for continued program quality.

Basic Qualifications for the Director of Mission Assurance 1:

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including experience in Quality/Quality Management.
  2. 5 or more years in a formal leadership role.
  3. Experience with technical and project management, including Earned Value Management.
  4. Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
  5. US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications for the Director of Mission Assurance 1:

  1. Experience with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System certification process.
  2. Experience with Naval specifications such as sub-safe and T9001B.
  3. Master's degree in engineering or technical field.
  4. Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) certification to drive continuous improvement.
  5. Experience with various industry standards and mil specs (JSTD, IPC).
  6. ASQ Certified Quality Manager / Organizational Excellence (CQM/OE).
  7. Experience with SAP, a plus with Quality & Mission Assurance transactions.
  8. A Secret Clearance with the ability to acquire a Top Secret clearance.
  9. Experience with the program/product lifecycle areas of new business pursuit in two or more areas including design, supply chain management, receiving operations, inventory control, production control, product test and evaluation, reliability, product sell off, shipping, and product support as they apply to quality.

Salary Range: $197,600 - $296,400

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
