Landscape Supervisor

Description:

As the Landscape Supervisor, you will oversee landscape operations ensuring high standards of efficiency. You will manage a team of landscape professionals, coordinate project activities and ensure that all work meets client expectations and regulatory requirements. Hours are 5am to 1:30pm, 5 days per week, Monday - Friday, with weekends as needed.

Essential Job Functions: Supervise and lead a team of landscape technicians, ensuring effective performance and adherence to company standards and government contract requirements.

  • Plan schedule and coordinate landscape maintenance and installation projects.
  • Conduct site inspections to assess work progress, quality, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on best practices and company position procedures.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and materials. Manage procurement as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with clients to address concerns, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain irrigation systems and repair systems as per statement of work.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets and reports.
  • Ensure all work complies with QWELL standards and other relevant certifications.

Supervisory Duties

  • Responsible for the supervision of JOI employees to ensure all tasks are completed by the contractual guidelines.
  • Responsible for quality control for all tasks performed to ensure contractual requirements are regularly met.
  • Ensures all employees have proper safety equipment needed to meet all safety requirements.
  • Responsible for completion of daily paperwork and record keeping.
  • Communicates with project manager of any behavioral or incidents detrimental to our relationship with project goals.
  • Maintains supply control to ensure accessibility of all necessary items.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and servicing of all equipment to prevent breakdowns of machinery.
  • Directly supervises 3 to 4 employees during day shift for landscaping/grounds maintenance team.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities following JOI policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsible for addressing complaints in a timely manner and communication to project manager and direct reports the contract.

Requirements

  • Show 3 to 5 years work history.
  • Be able to pass government background check criteria.
  • QWEL (Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper) certification required within the first year of employment.
  • Proven experience as Landscape Supervisor.
  • Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance practices, irrigation systems, and plant care.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and company memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one small group settings with employees and customers.
  • Ability to apply common sense, understanding to carry out instructions furnished in writing, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems proficiently in a timely manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel & Outlook.
