Job Title: Technical Writer

Pay: $35-$45/hr (pay rate is dependent on multiple factors including candidate experience)

Location: Fully Remote, must be able to work PST hours.

Contract: 6 month contract, potential for extension or conversion

Role:

A client of Insight Global is currently looking to a hire a Technical Writer to join their team. In this role, you will create clear and concise technical documentation for Quantum Computers and Quantum Networks, requiring knowledge in Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering. You will also explain complex engineering concepts to users through tutorials, examples, and user guides.

Responsibilities:

• Create and Maintain Documentation: Write and update user guides, reference pages, examples, and tutorials, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
• Translate Technical Information: Collaborate with engineers (electrical, mechanical, software) to understand and simplify technical concepts.
• Improve Documentation Quality: Follow style guides, review, and edit for clarity and completeness, incorporate user feedback.
• Manage Documentation Projects: Plan and prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, manage multiple projects, work collaboratively.

Skills:

• Writing and Communication: Clear, concise writing, strong editing and proofreading, ability to simplify complex concepts. Comfortable communicating with engineers and getting granular with requirements.
• Technical Proficiency: Understanding programming and software development, familiarity with technical engineering systems, ability to learn new tools. Must understand complicated engineering concepts.
• Attention to Detail: Identify and correct errors, maintain consistency in style and formatting.
• Project Management: Time management, task prioritization, teamwork.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer science, Engineering, or related field.
