Get to Know the Opportunity

This position will play a key role in identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating operational risks across the organization. The position will be proactive to effectively collaborate with various departments to ensure operational risks are managed in alignment with the company's strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.

This position is a hybrid role with three days of in-office work

required

at either our Atlanta, GA or San Diego, CA office.

The Contributions You Will Make

The individual will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively with Risk Management team members, as applicable. At a high level, this individual will be expected to assist in the design, development, implementation, and communication of risk-related, policies and procedures and be responsible for monitoring and analyzing the organization's risk exposure on both a day-to-day and long-term basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Identify, assess, and monitor operational risks across the organization.
  • Support the development, refinement and implementation of risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Drive and coordinate risk event / incident response activities involving impact, resolution, root cause analysis, preventative actions, and information gathering for record keeping.
  • Conduct risk assessments, analyze operational processes and risk events, and perform scenario analysis.
  • Maintain an understanding of regulatory changes, industry trends, operational risk management best practices to collaborate with internal business departments/functions and provide guidance to comply with applicable requirements.
  • Contribute to risk management reports and updates to senior management, risk committee, etc.
  • Deliver on assigned projects or other duties as both an individual contributor and/or project lead.
  • Function as a key risk partner to the business, providing guidance on risk identification, control enhancements, and remediation efforts.
  • Position requires minimum 3 days/week onsite, more as needed.
  • Some travel is expected, less than 10%.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in operational risk management or adjacent role(s) and 6-8 years of experience in asset management industry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and regulatory environments.
  • Strong understanding of trade lifecycles, security types (e.g., equities, fixed income, multi-assets, currencies, derivatives, convertibles, etc.), and vehicles (e.g., mutual funds, institutional funds, ETFs, SMAs).
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with ability to translate risk concepts into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., PowerBI, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Detail oriented with experience developing senior management presentations.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, preference for degrees in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or related field(s).
  • CFA Charter holder is a plus.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that's fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate's geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

$130,000 to $160,000 USD
