Job Title: Heavy Civil or Marine Construction Estimator

Location: San Diego, CA

Duration: Direct Hire/Permanent

Pay Range: $125,000 - $150,000 + benefits

Heavy Civil or Marine Construction Estimator

We are a heavy civil general engineering contractor based in San Diego, California, specializing in marine and civil construction. We are seeking a full-time Heavy Civil or Marine Construction Estimator to join our team.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the estimating process: prepare bids, interpret blueprints, conduct site checks, perform quantity take-offs, and negotiate contracts.
• Monitor procurement websites (USACE, Navy, federal/local agencies) for bid opportunities.
• Develop project work plans, schedules, and submittals.
• Draft subcontracts and manage submittals/RFIs.
• Maintain reports and records.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of heavy civil or marine construction estimating experience.
• Knowledge of HCSS and HeavyBid.
• Strong skills in blueprint reading, quantity take-offs, and subcontractor coordination.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel.
• Valid U.S. driver's license, ability to pass a drug test and federal background check.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with USACE & NAVFAC construction
• Degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
• PE certification.
