The Office of Housing Administration is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Procurement and Assignments Analyst. In this role, you will work closely with the Executive Director, Associate Directors, managers, staff, and students to uphold our mission, vision, and values, fostering an atmosphere of respect, inclusivity, collaboration, and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management: Support all phases of the housing license agreement contracting process.
  • Supply Chain Management: Facilitate the entire supply chain process for goods and services, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Expert Knowledge: Apply your thorough understanding of Housing Administration policies, procedures, and regulations to assist residents, parents, campus departments, and the public.
  • Order Management: Initiate orders, manage property leases and agreements, track deliveries, perform inventory counts, and process invoices.
  • Purchasing Authority: Handle a variety of purchasing activities with full responsibility up to $15,000 per contract, including commodities and service agreements.
  • Operational Support: Provide general operational support and assist with occasional events as needed.

Position Information

  • This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible permanent/probationary position.
  • This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation.
  • Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
  • Approved for partial telecommuting with onsite work in San Diego.

Department Summary

The Office of Housing Administration (OHA) is a self-funded operation responsible for planning, providing, and administering housing operations, services, and facilities with over 100 employees and over 150 student assistants with an annual operating budget exceeding $145,000,000. OHA provides housing for over 8,500 students in 25 communities with over 2 million sq. ft. of residential facilities.

Education and Experience

Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Experience in university housing assignments and occupancy management.
  • Experience using Oracle and StarRez.
  • Ability to communicate with students, parents, and families in a sensitive manner while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical student housing practices.

Licenses/Certifications Required

  • Valid California Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 10 days of hire.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $4,410 per month.

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
