Job Summary:

Learning Jungle is seeking a Policy & Regulations Manager to oversee compliance, licensing, and operational policies for our early childhood education centers based in the US and Canada. The primary objective of this role is to ensure the organization complies with all relevant laws, regulations, licensing guidelines, and industry standards through strategic policy development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early education operations, regulatory compliance, and a working knowledge of HR-related policies impacting childcare environments. This position reports to the Regional Operation Director and collaborates cross-functionally with departments such as HR, Finance, and Marketing to ensure policies align with the Company's standards and expectations.


Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Regulatory Compliance & Licensing

  • Develop and update operational policies to align with evolving regulations, ensuring consistency across all locations.
  • Ensure all centers maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including licensing requirements, health and safety standards, and accreditation criteria.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with licensing agencies and regulatory bodies, handling inspections, renewals, and compliance audits.
  • Provide training and guidance to center directors and staff on regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Oversee risk management initiatives, including identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating risks through regular brand standards assessments and risk audits.


Operational Policy Development & Implementation

  • Create, implement, and maintain policies and procedures related to daily operations, safety, child supervision, and curriculum standards.
  • Conduct regular policy reviews to ensure alignment with industry standards and organizational goals.
  • Support field leaders in implementing operational policies effectively while maintaining high-quality educational experiences.
  • Assist in developing emergency response plans and ensure all centers are prepared for compliance with safety drills and crisis management protocols.


HR & Employee Compliance Support

  • Work closely with HR to ensure compliance with employment laws related to childcare, including background checks, mandated reporter training, and teacher qualification requirements.
  • Assist in the development of staff training programs focused on compliance, professional development, and operational policies.
  • Support HR in addressing employee concerns related to workplace policies and regulatory requirements.


Stakeholder Collaboration & Support

  • Partner with the VP of Operations, HR, and Center Directors to ensure a seamless alignment of policies across departments.
  • Act as a resource for staff, families, and leadership regarding compliance-related questions and best practices.
  • Monitor industry trends and legislative changes that may impact operations and provide recommendations for proactive adjustments.


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Business Administration, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in early childhood education operations, compliance, or policy management.
  • Ability to travel to centers as requested.
  • Strong knowledge of childcare licensing regulations, health and safety requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Familiarity with HR policies related to employment in childcare settings, including background checks and labor laws.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Experience in policy writing, compliance audits, and staff training preferred.
