Job Summary:
PLNU is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional to plan and execute impactful University Advancement events that engage alumni, parents, donors, and friends of the university. Some of the key events will include Homecoming, Family Weekend, and regional alumni events throughout the country. The Advancement Event Manager will oversee logistics, coordinate with vendors and campus partners, and ensure seamless event execution through careful planning and hands-on support. Ideal candidates will be highly organized problem-solvers with strong interpersonal skills, a team-oriented mindset, and the ability to manage multiple projects with efficiency and creativity. This role requires adaptability, organization, and a commitment to delivering excellent experiences for guests.
Salary:
Pay range $26.36 - $29.66 per hour

Job Description:
What We're Looking For:
- Experience and knowledge of event planning and/or project management
- Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Understanding of non-profit or fundraising operations
- Technologically proficient and comfortable with Google suite

What You'll Be Doing:
- Work closely with UA staff to conceptualize and plan a variety of events, including several signature campus events, such as Homecoming and Family Weekend, as well as regional events throughout the year.
- Lead event planning committees to coordinate with stakeholders, efficiently keep all parties accurately informed, and maintain timely progress.
- Prepare and maintain a detailed and robust calendar of UA events.
- Serve as point-of-contact for staff and volunteers supporting event execution, including some work outside normal office hours.
- Manage event registrations including information updates, payment processing, registration webpage, and database records pertaining to events and participants.
- Work closely with UA team, University Marketing, and other campus partners to support promotional initiatives and ensure event webpages are up to date year-round.
- Carefully track financials in conjunction with UA leadership and the university Office of Accounting & Finance to ensure event expenses remain within budget constraints.
Qualifications:
- Understanding of and commitment to the spiritual mission of the University.
- Bachelor's degree or three years of relevant work experience required.
- Event planning and/or project management experience required.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to use independent judgment in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to think creatively and strategically.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with internal and external constituents.
- Strong computer skills: Google Workspace, Windows, Excel, Word.
- Experience utilizing a database/CRM preferred.
- Ability to perform successfully in a team environment.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, staff agree to live in agreement with PLNU's Community Life Covenant.
