Job Description

The QC Associate I is responsible for routine, accurate, and timely testing of QC samples according to standard protocols and operating procedures, such as flow cytometry related protocols. They will prioritize daily workload, work independently, review data, report results, and complete all required documentation and database entries. Specific instructions and ongoing guidance will be provided regarding tasks and expected results.

Job Responsibilities

• Train and become proficient in all required techniques, equipment operation, and software related to testing, data analysis, and reporting.
• Work with human blood, cell cultures, or animal tissues as needed.
• Complete QC tests accurately and timely under supervision, following protocols.
• Prioritize workload and develop independence.
• Analyze data, report results, and document all activities.
• Calibrate and maintain equipment, report issues, and keep logs.
• Prepare supplies, assist with lab maintenance, and promote safety.
• Participate in safety programs and address hazards.
• Maintain safety compliance and participate in team projects and cross-training.
• Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience

• BA/BS in a related science or college coursework with at least 2 years in a biotech lab.
• Experience in industrial or research labs preferred.
• Flow Cytometry experience required; Tissue Culture experience highly preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

• Basic computer skills: MS Excel & Word.
• Knowledge of lab safety.
• Interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to follow policies and keep accurate records.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
