Job Description Summary

Road Mechanic

Sunbelt Rentals, the fastest-growing rental business in North America, is seeking a Road Mechanic. This role performs preventive maintenance, diagnoses, and makes advanced repairs on equipment at the customer's location to minimize downtime. Our fleet includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training preferred
• 1-2 years of mechanic experience with diesel, heavy construction, or specialty equipment
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; CDL may be required in some locations

Skills and Abilities

• Mechanic's tools of trade (may need to provide)
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual abilities may be required based on location

The physical demands include bending, squatting, lifting 50+ pounds, and working indoors/outdoors. Reasonable accommodations will be made as required by law.

Additional Information

Experience in related roles such as Shop Mechanic, Technician, Service Manager, or Diesel Technician is relevant. Pay ranges from $23.06 to $31.70 per hour, with mechanics bringing tools earning $32.00 to $39.00 per hour.
