Job Skills / Requirements

The Floor Technician performs the day-to-day activities of buffing, waxing, carpet cleaning, and other cleaning tasks in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations to assure that the facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.

The ideal candidate will be flexible, responsible, highly motivated, and able to multi-task.

What You'll Do:

  • Stripping, waxing, buffing for office buildings, laboratories, and/or related areas
  • Auto scrubbing floors
  • Use of high-performance machinery
  • Extract carpet
  • Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily requirements
  • Spot carpets
  • Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies
  • Operate and maintain all equipment correctly
  • Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs such as “wet floor” and “caution”
  • Before end of shift, recheck all areas to ensure proper order, cleanliness, and completion of waste disposal
  • Report all incidents, accidents, hazardous conditions, or equipment issues to supervisors
  • Proper labeling, dilution, and use of all cleaning products
  • Always wear proper Personal Protective Equipment

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work effectively with a team
  • Ability to work independently as needed to support the group
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning products or willingness to learn
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Must have a valid driver's license
