Job Skills / Requirements

About the Role: The Floor Technician performs daily activities including buffing, waxing, carpet cleaning, and other cleaning tasks in accordance with current standards and regulations to ensure facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner. The ideal candidate will be flexible, responsible, highly motivated, and able to multitask.

Essential Functions:

• Stripping, waxing, and buffing for office buildings, laboratories, and related areas
• Use of high-performance machinery
• Extracting carpets
• Performing specific tasks according to daily schedules
• Spot cleaning carpets
• Utilizing appropriate chemicals and supplies
• Operating and maintaining all equipment correctly
• Performing basic janitorial duties

Skills & Experience:

• Attention to detail with a willingness to learn new concepts and perform highly detailed work
• 1-2+ years of floor technician experience is a plus
• Good hygiene skills required
• Open availability for overtime, schedule adjustments, and holiday work as needed
• Applicants must provide proof of work authorization and complete I-9 and E-Verify processes

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to be on your feet during entire shifts; including walking, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and crouching
• Must be able to lift 35 lbs. and carry a 12 lbs. backpack vacuum as needed
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required; reasonable accommodations will be considered for medical or religious reasons
