Position Overview:

HL Welding, Inc. is seeking experienced Pipe Fitters to join our nationwide team supporting marine and industrial clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing ship piping systems including steam, hydraulic, hot water, air pressure, and oil lines. This role demands precision, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and maintain shipboard piping systems based on blueprints and layouts

• Cut, thread, and bend pipe using hand and power tools

• Operate shop equipment to prepare pipe sections and fittings

• Connect pipe systems to ship equipment including pumps, tanks, and exchangers

• Inspect and test systems for leaks and compliance

• Perform adjustments, repairs, and valve packing

• Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings

• Work in confined spaces, at heights, and across various shifts

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of journeyman-level pipefitting experience

• Proficient in blueprint reading, marine piping systems, and silver-brazing procedures

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and military specifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Must be able to communicate and follow directions in English

• Excellent attention to detail and visual acuity required

• Experience in shipbuilding or manufacturing environments is required

Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely at heights of up to 50 feet

• Must pass background check and medical screening for shipyard access

• Available to work all shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed

• Demonstrated work stability (at least 2 years of verifiable and continuous employment preferred)

• Must pass a general pipefitting assessment, including plan reading and measuring
