Position Overview:

Cortechs.ai is a leader in imaging AI solutions for neurology and oncology, empowering healthcare professionals with tools that enhance diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes. Located in San Diego with options for remote work, the Senior AI Software Engineer will be a crucial part of our R&D team, responsible for building and optimizing medical imaging AI applications and deployment infrastructure. You will work closely with engineering, product, and quality assurance teams to deliver high-quality, FDA-cleared software that enhance diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes. This position requires excellent problem-solving skills, a passion for code quality, and the ability to work and collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and development of imaging AI applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the software development team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Identify and implement code improvements in existing applications to enhance performance and maintainability.
• Implement and improve MLops frameworks and participate in training and deploying ML models for production applications.
• Participate in code reviews, refactoring, and implement best practices in software design and development.
• Engage in software testing and verification & validation (V&V) activities to ensure high-quality releases.
• Collaborate with the product team to meet production deadlines and ensure timely software releases.
• Assist the technical support team in conducting root cause analysis for technical issues.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm and a product-focused mindset, eagerly taking on new challenges to drive our products and company culture forward.

Skills and Qualifications:
• BS in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Machine Vision, or related field with 10+ years of industry experience in medical image processing applications OR
• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Machine Vision, or related field with 7+ years of industry experience in medical image processing applications OR
• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Machine Vision, or related field with 5+ experience in medical image processing applications
• Experience in medical imaging (MRI, CT) physics, data acquisition, and post-processing.
• Proficiency in engineering DevOps tools such as JIRA, Github, Jenkins, AWS, etc.
• Strong proficiency in Python and object oriented programming
• Excellent interpersonal skills; strong written and oral communication skills.
• Self-starter, energetic, comfortable in a startup environment, strong problem-solving skills.
• Proven track record of completing multiple data science projects end-to-end; from idea generation, objectives formulation, to implementation and deliverable
• Experience developing computer vision models for segmentation, detection, classification, imaging quality enhancement or style transfer
• Experience with machine learning techniques such as generative adversarial neural networks, bayesian approaches, 3D u-nets, and unsupervised learning
• Experience with DICOM and HL7 standards.
• Experience with ML/DL tools like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Experience building and deploying Docker applications in AWS.
