Overview

Our San Diego office continues to grow. We are looking for an associate with between 3-7 years of experience handling labor and employment matters for employers. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits, and a salary range from $160,000 to $215,000 depending on experience. Experience defending wage and hour class and PAGA actions in California strongly preferred. Hybrid work arrangements are available.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with a wide range of employer clients to provide advice and counsel on high-stakes wage and hour matters.
• Draft pleadings, draft and argue motions, and handle discovery (e.g., preparing discovery, analyzing/preparing discovery responses, communicating with clients, and engaging in related motion practice).
• Contribute to overall strategy from case inception to completion.
• Take depositions, attend mediations, and engage in settlement negotiations.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of labor and employment defense experience in California.
• Successful candidates will be highly motivated, detail-oriented, possess excellent writing, analytical, and people skills, value a team environment, and be prepared to work independently and assume significant responsibilities.

Education

• Juris Doctor. Qualified candidates must be and remain licensed to practice law and be in good standing in the state of California.
• Must have a California bar license.
• During employment, must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice.
• Options available to work in the office, fully remote, or hybrid.
