The role involves providing protective services to assigned locations, patients, visitors, and staff. The successful candidate will patrol UCSD Health Sciences premises on foot or in a vehicle to protect life and property, manage disruptive persons professionally, control access to restricted and security-sensitive areas, and respond to fire/security alarm activations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• California Guard Registration.
• Must hold valid driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.
• Two (2) years of security or security related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• BART and IAHSS certified within six (6) months of hire date.
• Skills, knowledge, and ability essential to successfully perform the duties assigned to the position.
• Ability to adhere to dress code at all times.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

Preferred Qualifications:

• One (1+) or more years of experience in hospital security.

Special Conditions:

• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
• Must be willing to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act: Annual Full Pay Range: $50,446 - $62,744 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hours and Location: Days, 8 hrs/day, Variable, located in La Jolla.
