In the role of Water Business Group Area Professional Services Leader, you'll be a key leader in our thriving Southern California WBG, providing leadership and mentoring across our organization. We'll count on you to:

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible to the WBG Area Manager to develop, coordinate, monitor and improve technical competencies of area staff and products to meet client needs and market drivers
  • Lead and monitor development and training of area staff in technical and business competencies
  • Oversee workload balancing and ensure qualified staffing of project teams
  • Lead quality assurance efforts to implement QA/QC Program activities striving for continuous improvement
  • Monitor project QC Review activities including assignment of experienced and qualified reviewers
  • Lead and monitor activities for continuous improvement including development and use of technical standards, procedures, best practices and lessons learned
  • Lead and participate in project reviews and support project teams with management of claims and losses
  • Lead the WBG Area mentoring initiative
  • Oversee technical and digital delivery evolution, in collaboration with subject matter experts
  • Work with WBGAM to streamline and coordinate business processes consistent with Area, corporate policy and MOA
  • Oversee and ensure implementation of quality, standards, and best practices
  • Provide leadership to assigned business class leaders, including the cross-sector leaders
  • Collaborate with WBG Area operations, market sectors, business classes, and delivery leaders
  • Participate in WBG Area strategic planning and plan implementation
  • Support area activities related to hiring and retaining key staff
  • Serve as a champion for BGX opportunities
  • Support communication and coordination within all business groups
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of 20 years consulting experience as a Project Manager
  • A minimum of 25 years of experience is preferred
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Maintains professional or engineering registration and has extensive related technical expertise
  • Experienced in management and development of diverse teams
  • Works cooperatively with operations managers, technical staff and marketing managers on professional services-related efforts

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience.
  • Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with leading diverse teams. Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values.
  • Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other area business group directors, technical directors and marketing managers.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
