EDA Infrastructure Engineer

Description:

The MOSIS 2.0 PIES Team is hiring an EDA Infrastructure Engineer to join a core team at USC/ISI, complemented by a distributed team across partner university labs and industry fabs.

Location: California (On-site at the USC University Park Campus)

Position Type: Full-Time, Research/Support Role, MOSIS2.0 (California DREAMS Microelectronics Commons) / USC ECE Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain EDA tool flows for tools from multiple vendors, with an emphasis on digital flows.
  • Manage cloud platform for EDA tool usage and IP repository.
  • Support internal and external EDA users.
  • Support collaborative cloud-based EDA ecosystem for hub and inter-hub use.

The role requires experience with:

  • Using and developing flows for tools from vendors like Ansys, Cadence, Keysight, Siemens, and Synopsys (experience across multiple vendors preferred).
  • Deployment and use of EDA tools on commercial cloud platforms.
  • Analog and digital design.
  • IP module maintenance and usage.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in electrical engineering, materials science, physics, or related field, covering fundamentals of microelectronics engineering principles and fabrication technologies, with at least five years of experience with various EDA flows from multiple vendors. Experience in both analog and digital design, as well as IP development, usage, and maintenance, is required.

Additional notes:

  • Expected to assist in developing a collaborative EDA ecosystem across the hub, including licensing and sharing of tool expertise and experiences.

The annual base salary range is $156,918 - $180,000. USC considers various factors when extending offers, including experience, education, skills, and organizational considerations.
