Position Description

Management of Educational Facility experience, in CA, is required.

  • Primary liaison and education/owner representative responsible for directing and managing a portfolio of education projects, ranging from large re-development programs to medium and small projects.
  • Ensure project completion on schedule and within budget, in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Responsible for scope development and management to meet project goals.
  • Plan and define program goals, understand client objectives, contract terms, and policies.
  • Familiar with engineering/technical aspects, procurement, and construction activities.
  • Oversee establishment of Project Management, Health and Safety, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plans.
  • Establish program requirements, monitor deliverables for adherence.
  • Manage technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of projects.
  • Participate in performance reviews and development plans for team members.
  • Field responsibilities may include labor relations, procurement, and pay applications.
  • Develop budgets, schedules, and plans with team members.
  • Ensure project goals are met or exceeded.
  • Devise and execute plans to address cost overruns or delays.
  • Manage change orders and project documentation.
  • Participate in negotiations and public meetings.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 7-10 years of related experience, including as an owner or owner representative.
  • Experience managing large-scale education projects.
  • PE certification preferred.
  • Leadership ability and excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of industry practices, regulations, and current technology.
