Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically capable individual to join our IT Department as an IT Helpdesk Support. This entry-level role supports daily IT operations and will play a critical role in supporting team members by ensuring seamless operation of our Microsoft 365-based infrastructure and lab-connected IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for IT support across the organization, assisting with hardware, software, and access issues.


• Provide onboarding and offboarding support including email provisioning, device configuration, and access control.


• Provide day-to-day support for scientists and lab users.


• Maintain inventory of IT equipment and ensure accurate tracking using asset management systems.


• Maintain documentation of troubleshooting steps, known issues, and system configurations.


• Other duties as assigned.

Reporting Relationship

The IT Helpdesk Support will report directly to the Associate Director, IT.

Essential Physical Characteristics

On-Site Protocol

Qualifications

• 1-4 years of experience in helpdesk or helpdesk support.


• Experience working in ticketing systems and structured IT support environments.


• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.


• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards exploring new approaches.


• Proficiency working with Microsoft 365 including Office Suite Products, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint


• Fundamental understanding of networking concepts, including IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry is a plus.


• Associate or bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience is desirable but is not required.


• IT Certification is a plus.


• Familiarity with IT ticketing systems such as Jira Service Desk or Zendesk is a plus.


• CompTIA A+ or Microsoft certifications, or equivalent are a plus.


• Efficient and accurate typing skills, with a minimum speed of 40 words per minute (WPM) to ensure timely and professional communication in support interactions and ticketing systems.

• This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, with occasional overtime.

This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including but not limited to cash bonuses.
