Overview

Director of Engineering for L'Auberge Del Mar, located in Del Mar, CA. The role is responsible for maintaining the physical functionality and safety of the hotel property to deliver guest service excellence and financial profitability. The Director of Engineering represents Property Operations to guests and team members, handling guest complaints and emergencies. The Engineering team performs maintenance tasks including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting and HVAC. This position oversees the Engineering team, including training, team member relations, communication, recognition and day-to-day supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain physical functionality and safety of hotel property.
• Represent Property Operations to guests and team members; address guest complaints and respond to emergencies.
• Oversee engineering team: training and development, team relations, communication, recognition, and daily supervision.
• Coordinate and perform repairs and maintenance across carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting and HVAC as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years building maintenance experience.
• 3–5 years supervising or leading a team.
• Hotel experience preferred.
• Good computer skills.
