This opportunity is a full-time position with potential to work out of any of our US WSP offices, including Tempe/Phoenix, AZ; San Diego, CA; San Jose, CA; or Las Vegas, NV. The successful candidate will have experience providing construction and technical direction on building/facilities construction related projects. Our ideal candidate will have experience in construction oversight of small to medium, multi-discipline projects from assignment to commissioning, close-out, and turnover to client.
Your Impact
- Supporting the Project Manager in tendering works, bid reviews and bid analysis.
- Managing construction projects upon award of contracts.
- Contractor coordination.
- Budget monitoring & schedule monitoring with adherence to cost and delivery contractual commitments.
- Construction monitoring and thorough documentation of project delivering a weekly report on project status.
- Maintaining a weekly construction log in a terse, professional format.
- Record and document significant verbal, telephone, and media messaging.
- Quality control, documentation and resolution of poor-quality fabrication, installation or materials by general contractors, trade disciplines, and suppliers.
- Change order control, including detailed knowledge of change and contractual requirements.
- Job safety, monitoring, and compliance with WSP and USPS's safety, health and environmental (SH&E) requirements.
- Project start-up meetings and documentation and attendance in meetings including safety program.
- Manage and assist in responding to RFI's, material and equipment submittals and shop drawings.
- Interface with client as required or defined for program.
- Project turnover of documentation, including as-built drawings, training manuals, OEM installation/operation & maintenance manuals.
- Equipment and systems testing and commissioning.
- Field assignments are local and regional depending on technical capabilities and travel; overnight travel is estimated to be up to 100%.
- Implementation of standards in compliance with USPS/WSP program requirements and guidance from Sr. construction managers in planning, execution, and delivery of similar project requirements.
- Possess knowledge of construction processes and demonstrate construction management skills in integration/coordination of project elements.
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards and contract requirements.
- Clear and precise record keeping meeting contract and regulatory requirements.
- Compliance with all USPS/WSP environmental, health and safety requirements.
- Types of buildings include offices, light industrial facilities, maintenance facilities.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or relevant.
- Experience working with outside 3rd party vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience and demonstrated success with construction management or related disciplines.
- Ability to self-motivate with an entrepreneurial spirit. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, MS Project. Familiar with Blue-Beam, AutoCAD, and project management software such as Procore a plus, but not required (candidate must be willing to learn software as applicable).
- Experience working with direct and indirect resources, minimum of 5+ years acting in a construction management capacity or supervisory role on light industrial or commercial projects.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. Knowledge of environmental, safety and health regulatory compliance. Negotiation and construction management experience/skills.
- Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient and detail oriented.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working with technical disciplines.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Read, understand, and interpret blueprints, drawings, diagrams, floor plans, shop drawings, specifications, and schedules as they relate to architectural, civil, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC equipment, & building structures.
Physical Demands
- Must have the ability to stoop, sit, stand, or be on their feet for extended periods of time and be able to handle standard field-testing equipment.
- Must have the ability to work in varying environments (office, and field settings) and be willing to travel.
- Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy.

Compensation: Expected Salary: $86,100 - $141,350. WSP USA reserves the right to adjust the offered compensation based on education, experience, and location.
