Overview

Environmental Engineer - Networking Event with AECOM - Los Angeles, CA. This is an entry level Environmental Engineer role in AECOM's Environmental Remediation Practices group, supporting soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects. The position is located in San Diego, Orange or Westlake Village, California, with potential travel to project locations. The position is expected to begin in Spring 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental field work, including collecting soil, groundwater, and remediation system data, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging and oversight of subcontractors.
  • Produce accurate and complete documentation of operation, inspections and compliance.
  • Field document preparation, field data collection, processing and interpretation.
  • Support office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental/Civil/Geological/Chemical Engineering.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
  • As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review and a substance abuse test.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • HAZWOPER 40 Hr. Training.
  • Prior experience in environmental field data collection including drilling, soil logging, well installation and soil, groundwater, vapor sample collection, and/or remediation system operations, maintenance, and monitoring.
  • Master's Degree is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Coursework or experience providing knowledge relevant to waste management, environmental site assessments, environmental site investigation and characterization, and environmental remediation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of environmental sampling practices.
  • Additional Information
  • Relocation assistance and/or per diem is not available for this position.
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
  • Candidate will submit to medical surveillance screening upon hire.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $69,000.00 - $82,000.00.
