The Transportation Division/Traffic Engineering and ITS Market Sector of HDR is seeking a creative, highly talented Section Leader and Senior Traffic/ITS Engineer for our downtown San Diego office. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in traffic engineering, transportation planning, ITS, and emerging traffic technology issues. The role involves overseeing traffic operations analysis, traffic design, traffic management system plans, and collaborating on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Leadership responsibilities include staff development, project management, marketing, and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage operations of the production section, including staff development, profitability, and quality control.
• Function as Project Manager on traffic projects, with responsibilities for project delivery and team coordination.
• Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams and manage technical personnel.
• Engage in marketing efforts, proposals, and client relationships.
• Ensure all work is planned, organized, and evaluated effectively.
• Implement company policies and support a collaborative team environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience.
• Professional registration or certification as required.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Active participation in an employee-owned culture.
