Reporting through National Accounts within BD Specimen Management, the Business Solutions Manager will have responsibilities across Specimen Management and BDX, including Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO) and key account management activities. You will collaborate with large hospital systems, labs, Sales, and Marketing to develop and execute contracting and pricing strategies that support business objectives. You will work across National GPOs, Region GPOs, Local Pricing agreements, and OEM Contracting throughout the US, and will partner with the Strategic Customer Group, Marketing, and Finance to achieve pricing targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the implementation of pricing guidelines and strategies for GPOs and related agreements.
  • Develop and manage the Specimen Management business plan, including pricing, renewal guidelines, and product line optimization.
  • Develop financial modeling, ROI projections, and analysis for key accounts; improve policies, processes, and systems related to contracts and pricing.
  • Create pricing strategies that align with SM pricing targets across GPOs and local pricing.
  • Develop pricing strategies for new agreements and renewals, focusing on growth, product line optimization, and formulary pricing.
  • Foster strong, long-lasting relationships with GPO contacts and collaborate cross-functionally to drive results.

About You

We are looking for an experienced people leader with a track record in strategic selling and contracting procedures for large accounts. Prior experience in a large, matrix organization in the medical products market and with GPOs is preferred. You should have proven leadership, financial analysis and modeling, and sales strategy development capabilities, with strong influencing skills and the ability to build internal and external partnerships. You are a strategic problem-solver who seeks alternative solutions to increase business opportunities. A solid understanding of pricing strategies, guardrail management, and distribution management (global logistics) is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, health sciences, or related field; Master's degree in business or applied sciences preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of documented sales success across a broad range of healthcare products.
  • 3–5 years of experience in GPO account management, including contract negotiation and execution.
  • Sales/people leadership experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare buying and contracting processes for clinical and economic products.
  • Experience working across business units/functions to drive results.
  • Knowledge of the overall Specimen Management portfolio preferred.
  • Must be based within the US.

Note: At BD, on-site collaboration is valued. Many roles require a minimum of 4 days in-office per week; remote or field-based arrangements may vary and will be indicated in the posting. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package; salary ranges vary by location and experience. Specific salary for this role is $150k–$200k annual base plus incentive.
