We are seeking a Senior Scientific Director to join our Peptide Discovery Team within Biotechnology Discovery Research. In this pivotal role, you will lead efforts in discovering functionally active peptides through cutting-edge peptide phage display techniques. You will not only contribute to the design and execution of novel multicyclic peptide scaffolds but also mentor and collaborate with an energetic team of scientists.

As a technical leader, your key responsibilities will encompass:

• Applying your extensive knowledge in molecular biology, genetic engineering, and chemistry to develop a robust multicyclic peptide phage display platform.
• Executing the platform to identify and optimize peptide hits targeting specific biological interests.
• Innovating new methods and technologies to enhance the peptide discovery process.
• Training and guiding junior scientists in the art of multicyclic peptide phage display.
• Leading screening projects and fostering collaboration with experts in organic chemistry, computational science, and structural biology.
• Improving peptide properties, such as binding affinity, through advanced knowledge application.
• Working closely with peptide chemists to systematically enhance the pharmaceutical properties of therapeutic peptide leads.
• Demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities and addressing challenges at the intersection of peptide discovery, engineering, and biological relevance.

Basic Qualifications:

• A Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, or molecular biology with a specialization in peptides.
• 3+ years of experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries, showcasing leadership in peptide discovery and development of peptide-based therapeutics.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supervising junior scientists in experimental design and execution.
• Proficiency in utilizing advanced peptide phage display platforms, supported by publications or patents.
• Experience in designing and developing biochemical and cellular assays to support peptide discovery.
• Knowledge of triaging and validating peptide actives post-selection.
• Understanding of compound physical chemistry and its relation to ADME properties.
• Familiarity with peptide formulation requirements and pharmaceutical developability assessment.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams along with excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
