Overview
Eisai is seeking a field-facing Medical Science Liaison (MSL) / Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) to engage in the exchange of scientific data and medical information with external customers in the oncology space. The MSL/Sr. MSL serves as a clinical/scientific resource and contributor to Eisai's Medical Affairs and development efforts in the territory.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary clinical/scientific resource to Healthcare Providers (HCPs) in the territory for information pertaining to disease state and Eisai's product(s) to ensure awareness and understanding.
- Serve as a conduit for accurate and updated clinical, scientific and medical information between Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)/investigators and Eisai Medical Affairs and development groups.
- Establish and maintain peer relationships with KOLs in Eisai's therapeutic areas of interest.
- Share knowledge and participate in scientific exchanges with identified KOLs.
- Present clinical, scientific and economic data on Eisai's products and relevant therapeutic areas to population-based decision-makers as requested.
- Support assigned professional congresses in accordance with the MSL plan and coordinate MSL/Sr. MSL activities as required.
- Identify and report key scientific, clinical and research insights from KOLs to Medical Affairs.
- Develop and present plans to support Medical Affairs strategic direction for the assigned territory.
Training/Education Resource
- Maintain and demonstrate thorough and up-to-date knowledge of disease state, study methodology, clinical information, and product data.
- Demonstrate knowledge of approved medical platforms/strategies and MSL initiatives; serve as a resource to Eisai commercial personnel if requested.
- Teach, coach and mentor new or less experienced MSLs; contribute to supervision, performance evaluation and special projects.
Research Support
- Facilitate review and follow-up of Investigator-Initiated Studies (IISs) and assist with Eisai sponsored trials.
- Act as primary contact to external investigators submitting IISs and provide scientific input for company sponsored post-marketing studies as appropriate.
Professional Organization Support
- Lead field medical efforts in Eisai's collaboration with professional organizations, societies and advocacy groups as required.
Educational Requirements
Requires an advanced, terminal Doctorate level (D-level) degree in medical or health sciences (e.g. MD, PhD, PharmD, DPH, EdD).
Experience
- MSL: 0-3 years in the pharma/biotech industry or related scientific/clinical settings; experience as MSL preferred.
- Sr. MSL: minimum of 3 years MSL experience in Oncology/Hematology.
- Strong broad-based scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge; clinical trial development and drug launch experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations and OIG guidelines.
- Established relationships with key opinion leaders and familiarity with Eisai's therapeutic areas.

- Excellent presentation and teaching skills; strong written and verbal communication.
- Strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently while aligning with Medical Affairs strategy.
- Mentoring capability for less-experienced MSLs and potential leadership contributions without direct reporting lines.
- Ability to travel frequently (approximately 60% of time), including overnight travel; domestic and international travel may be required.
- Valid driver's license and ability to set up a home-based office as a field-based role.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range for MSL: $144,300.00 - $189,400 USD Annual
Salary range for Sr. MSL: $160,100.00 - $210,100 USD Annual
