Description

RICK (formerly RICK Engineering Company) is a California-based engineering, planning, and design firm with over 70 years of experience. We are expanding our Environmental Services Division and seeking a motivated Director of Environmental Services to join our headquarters in San Diego, California. The role involves managing CEQA and NEPA services, business development, and project delivery, with a focus on growth through marketing and client engagement.

The candidate will oversee the preparation of CEQA documents, coordinate with staff and consultants, manage budgets, and interact with clients and agencies such as county, city, CDFW, RWQCB, and USACE. Responsibilities also include proposal preparation, business development, and leadership of 2-5 staff members. Strong communication, QA/QC, and relationship-building skills are essential.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, science, engineering, planning, or related field
• 15+ years of experience (consideration given to highly qualified candidates with less experience)
• Strong understanding of Southern California agencies and clients
• Experience in proposals, business development, and marketing
• Existing client relationships and networking skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Additional Skills

• Master's degree in relevant fields
• Experience with diverse project types and clients in Southern California

Compensation

The estimated salary range is $155,000 to $200,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
