The Role

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Field Applications Engineer to join the Business Development Team, focusing on Southern California.

The key responsibilities of the Field Applications Engineer include, but are not limited to:

• Engage with product marketing, sales and customers to quickly generate product design solutions
• Build responsive technical relationships with our customers
• Data analytics market and technology research
• General understanding of internal and vendor manufacturing capabilities
• Provide input for product manufacturing and testing requirements
• Interface with customers and vendors to assure conformance to customer requirements
• Interpret customer and internal drawings and 3D files
• Ability to communicate conceptual designs to customers and internal manufacturing
• Review customer documents for compliance with AAO requirements
• Understand financial cost / pricing of AAO products
• Must have ability to communicate design advantages of Amphenol products to customers and communicate the customers' needs to internal design and manufacturing groups
• Must be capable of redefining designs to customer requirements

Salary: $90,000 - $130,000 per year

• Successful incumbent will be eligible to participate in the Field Applications Engineer Incentive Program and will also be provided with a leased company car.

Qualifications

• Should have the ability to work with CAD and ProE applications for design
• Requires an ability to work with internal and external cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams
• B.S. degree in engineering, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering preferred
• 2 to 5 years experience as a Field Applications Engineer or experience in the interconnect industry required
• Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally, average of 25-50% travel
• Ability to work in a desk / office setting
