Assistant Professor: Consumer Insights
The San Diego State University Marketing Department at Fowler College of Business seeks to hire a tenure-track assistant professor with expertise in consumer insights and analytics to begin August 19, 2026.
Candidates must demonstrate experience in and/or commitment to teaching. Applicants should possess a strong research interest and capability, evidenced by a history of or potential for professional growth. This includes regular publication in quality, refereed journals, participation in professional conferences, and an active, innovative research agenda. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with the business community.
The SDSU Fowler College of Business, one of the nation0s oldest and largest AACSB-accredited business schools, has a significant regional, national, and international impact. The Marketing Department0s faculty are active in research areas including consumer behavior, marketing management, strategy, and sales management, with expertise in experience design, sensory marketing, digital marketing, marketing analytics, societal impact, and sustainability. Their research has appeared in leading journals such as the Journal of Marketing, Management Science, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Advertising, and Journal of Public Policy and Marketing.

The minimum salary for this position is based on the current CSU salary schedule and may be revised based on contract collective bargaining. The anticipated salary range is from $138,000 to $142,000. Salary placement will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience, and salaries higher than the published maximums may be offered in limited circumstances.
