Silicon Process Technology Engineer, Sr. Staff

As a member of the Qualcomm Process & Package Solutions Engineering team, this candidate will help drive transistor design, process integration, and design enablement for PMIC Technologies at foundry partners, in addition to supporting internal design and test engineering teams.

General Summary: The candidate will be responsible for bringing up custom PMIC technologies in partner foundries, including meeting performance and reliability specs, and process qualification.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
  • Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
  • PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Bring-up custom PMIC technologies in partner foundries, including meeting performance and reliability specs, and process qualification.
  • Support PMIC product tapeout and qualification, including layout review, process/design debug, new BKM for yield and reliability, and excursion control.
  • Enable new transistors with improved KPI in existing PMIC technologies to meet new product performance requirements.
  • Work closely with Qualcomm design, test and reliability teams to understand product needs and resolve issues.
  • Perform TCAD for developing and optimizing new devices and provide guidance to foundries to develop them.
  • Perform technology benchmarking based on electrical performance, layout and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience developing advanced CMOS processes, devices, design enablement or circuits.
  • Excellent understanding of CMOS device physics, process integration, reliability, design rules and best layout practices.
  • Excellent understanding of design enablement details including DRC, LVS, LPE, DFM, etc to support PDK enablement at Qualcomm.
  • Good understanding of basic digital and analog circuit design and operation, and digital and analog circuit design flows.
  • Good knowledge of FEOL and BEOL unit processes including Lithography, Etch, PVD/CVD deposition, implant, CMP, etc.
  • Good knowledge of Cadence design environment, including layout and circuit simulation.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments.
