Akerman LLP seeks a highly motivated California Associate with 5 to 7 years of labor and employment defense experience to join its expanding national labor and employment practice. Eligible candidates must have represented employers in federal and state court litigation, with substantive experience in wage and hour class action, PAGA litigation, and discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims. Remote work is allowed, and a hybrid arrangement from Los Angeles, Orange County, or San Diego is supported.
Key responsibilities include fact investigation, exposure analysis, management of discovery, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting legal research, and advising clients on complex employment law compliance issues. Experience with alternative dispute resolution, client counseling, and workplace investigations is highly valued.
Applicants must possess a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school, be a member of the California State Bar, and demonstrate the ability to remotely or in a hybrid arrangement.
Annual base salary: $250,000 - $300,000.
