Are you bilingual in Spanish and English? Use your language skills to make a direct impact! As a Spanish Translator Volunteer, you'll help bridge communication between staff and clients, ensuring that individuals who are blind or visually impaired receive clear, respectful, and culturally competent information.
This role is vital in promoting access, dignity, and confidence for our Spanish-speaking community members. Responsibilities may include:
Interpreting conversations between clients and staff
Translating documents or signage into Spanish
Assisting during workshops, appointments, or public events
Offering language support at the front desk or over the phone
Helping the San Diego Center for the Blind ensure that no one is left behind due to a language barrier
Youwill help build trust and clarity for clients who may otherwise struggle to access critical services. By supporting clear communication, volunteers in this role empower individuals to fully participate in programs, feel understood, and advocate for themselves. Volunteers aren't just translating words they're making connection, independence, and dignity possible.
Time Commitment: Mondays from 9:00am-12:30pm or1:30pm-2:30pm. Volunteers are expected to serve in an ongoing capacity.

Required Skills/Experience:Volunteers must be bilingual in English & Spanish
