Overview
Navy Federal is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business System Analyst III to join our dynamic team. In this senior role, you will be a pivotal partner to our Business Solutions team within the Lending division, driving the analysis and implementation of innovative technical solutions that align with the strategic vision.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand unique business needs and requirements. Your expertise will enhance business processes by promoting new functionalities and leveraging existing systems and processes across the enterprise. Translate business objectives into actionable technical solutions, ensuring systems effectively support and elevate our operations.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Analyze information, requirements, data, work quality, work methods, processes, service specific practices, standards and metrics/statistics
- Use elicitation techniques to gather information at the right level of detail and scope to represent all stakeholder needs
- Define and document technical design for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating systems environment, interface with other systems, internal and external controls and output
- Identify business requirements (needs, objectives, functions, features, input and output)
- Recommend adjustments to workflow to streamline processes
- Coordinate integration of solutions with existing applications; resolve conflicts to ensure compatibility
- Maintain an understanding of relevant industry standards, best practices, business processes and technology to ensure compliance with policy, vendor contractual requirements, procedures, processes and standards
- Participate in cross‑organizational task groups on new automated systems, products and services
- Plan, coordinate and roll out software change/release to controlled testing and production, obtain required approvals and transition to production
- Interact with technology partners and business units on problem resolution
- Use performance measurements to identify areas for improvement and develop process improvement plans
- Present conclusions and recommendations to management
- Provide leadership and guidance to ensure successful implementation of business unit projects
- Lead project teams, ensure quality and consistent performance, meet schedules and resolve technical problems
- Serve as resource for resolution of complex problems
- Lead, guide and mentor less experienced staff
- Write requirements and define editorial workflow for business owner projects
- Act as change management lead for business unit; develop change roadmaps and plans
- Document and document preventive, detective, and corrective controls
- Develop test plans, test criteria, scenarios and documentation; ensure acceptance of delivered solutions
- Conduct user acceptance testing, develop and execute test cases, communicate results
- Report testing activity including time spent, testing time lost and discrepancies found
- Apply and communicate changes and new trends in systems/technology
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify development opportunities
- Research emerging technologies and recommend solutions that align with business goals
- Negotiate and influence decisions with stakeholders
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders verbally and in writing
- Experience leading large projects/initiatives with business risk and impact
- Experience coaching professional staff
- Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools and ceremonies
- Significant experience in problem resolution including determining root cause, scope and scale of issues
- Significant experience leading collaborative work teams
- Independent management of multiple priorities to achieve goals
- Experience researching, compiling and documenting data, business processes and workflow
- Advanced research, analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Advanced organizational, planning and time‑management skills
- Advanced skill following, interpreting and applying relevant data/instructions to guidelines, procedures, practices and regulations
- Advanced word processing and spreadsheet software skills
- Advanced database and presentation software skills
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or the equivalent combination of training, education and experience
- Should have commercial or business banking domain knowledge
