Business Development Center Manager

Description:

NextGen Tides is an innovative biotech startup focused on oligonucleotide and peptide synthesis, conjugation technologies, and next‑gen modality services (ASO, siRNA, PMO, AOC, etc.). We are building a top‑tier, flexible CRO/CDMO platform that enables discovery‑to‑preclinical workflows for pharma, biotech, and academic partners worldwide.

Role Description

We are seeking a results‑driven Business Development Manager to drive client acquisition, manage partnerships, and expand our commercial footprint. You will play a critical role in identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities with biotech, pharmaceutical, and academic clients in North America.

Key Responsibilities

Client Acquisition & Growth

  • Identify and qualify inbound and outbound leads across biotech and pharma sectors.
  • Actively engage potential clients via email, calls, networking, and conferences.
  • Develop and close contracts for oligo synthesis, peptide services, and custom conjugation programs.

Relationship Management

  • Build long‑term, trusted relationships with decision‑makers, scientists, and procurement teams.
  • Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for assigned clients.

Strategic Planning

  • Collaborate with internal teams (scientists, operations, project management) to shape and price service offerings.
  • Gather competitive intelligence, track industry trends, and propose strategic actions.
  • Sales Operations: develop and maintain CRM entries, track pipeline activity, and forecast revenue. Support marketing campaigns, proposal generation, and investor‑facing materials.

Required

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in BD or sales within a CRO, CDMO, or biotech company.
  • Proven ability to close deals in preclinical research, synthesis, or contract services.
  • Strong understanding of oligonucleotide therapeutics, conjugation strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
