Analytical Research Assistant, Intern
Position Summary:
The Analytical Research Assistant Intern will support a dynamic and diverse research pipeline by performing routine analytical testing of RNA-based drug substances, intermediates, and formulated drug products. This part-time role is designed for students currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry or a related discipline.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
* Perform and coordinate routine analytical testing of RNA-based drug substances, intermediates, and formulated drug products using a variety of analytical techniques and specialized instrumentation, including chromatography, spectroscopy, electrophoresis, particle characterization, and other relevant methods.
* Support analytical equipment maintenance, trouble shooting and qualifications.
* Support organizing, storage and maintaining inventory of analytical materials and supplies.
* Maintain proper documentation of all experimental procedures and results.
* Present scientific results and observations to colleagues and management.
* Perform other duties as needed.
Primary Outcomes: perform and organize routine analytical testing of RNA-based samples in timely manner, be integral member of the team, clearly communicate results and outcomes.
Position Requirements:
Education Required: Student currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry or a related field.
Experience Required: Hands-on experience with wet bench laboratory techniques.
Strong motivation to learn and grow within a scientific environment.
Proficiency in operating standard laboratory instruments as well as computer hardware and software.
Competencies:
* Experience with analytical characterization of nucleic acid-based therapeutics is a plus.
* Knowledge of biochemistry techniques
* Pipetting skills
* Expertise in multiple analytical techniques such as UV-Vis, Karl Fischer, fluorescent plate readers, osmometers, viscometers etc. is a plus.
* Demonstrated experience in analysis of molecular biology and biochemistry data.
* Ability to apply existing knowledge and experience to solve standard analytical problems without instruction and receive guidance on new assignments or more complex problems from a senior team member.
* Ability to handle large amount of data without compromising quality of the results
