North Wind Site Services is focused on providing engineering, program management, environmental remediation services including investigation and characterization, environmental restoration, unexploded ordnance/military munitions response (MMRP), regulatory public involvement services, environmental compliance, logistics, and records and facility management.
Position Purpose
Support Environmental Records Management Contract
Responsibilities
- Using high end and large format scanners, organize and scan paper documents into electronic format (PDF).
- Conduct basic quality control on paper documents (page numbering, flow, etc.) prior to scanning.
- Conduct quality control on digital documents per client requirements, including:
- Crop all pages of all files per specifications
- Perform optical character recognition (OCR)
- Perform complete hard copy proof of all records scanned
- Create bookmarking in PDF files, using Adobe Acrobat
- Use Acrobat plug-in on all files per specific instructions
- Reduce file sizes per specific instructions
- Record number of pages scanned per record
- Track discrepancies and errors during each job
- Record job progress on a daily basis in Document Scanning Log, a shared Excel spreadsheet
- Record time spent on litigation projects, using specified Excel spreadsheets
- Utilize standard software applications including MS Office applications and Adobe Acrobat
Minimum Qualifications
- Education and Experience:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in scanning documents
- High School Diploma required

- Ability to follow set processes and procedures
- Ability to adapt to evolving processes
- Strong collaboration, attention to detail, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work accurately, follow written and verbal instructions/schedules/timelines and handle multiple priorities
- Willingness to learn and ask questions
- Demonstrated ability to configure and use computer and peripherals, including both high end and large format scanner peripherals and software
- Ability to conduct and quality control optical character recognition (OCR)
- Excellent ability to follow quality control steps
Special Requirements
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience scanning with high end and large format scanners is preferred
- Experience using Adobe Acrobat
Physical Demands
- This is an office job. No special physical activities other than sitting at the desk and imaging, sometimes for a long period of time, but rarely all day long
- Ability to lift 30 pounds
Working Environment
Indoors. Minimal noise produced by the scanning equipment possible for a short period of time.
