Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SAP Analyst with deep expertise in the SAP Financial Accounting (FI) module to support the Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This position is mission-critical in advancing the Department of the Navy's financial modernization initiatives by ensuring accurate, auditable, and compliant financial transactions across the enterprise.

The ideal candidate will bring over 10 years of SAP functional experience, with specific expertise in financial postings, general ledger, asset accounting, and Navy-specific appropriated fund accounting processes. This role involves both strategic advisory and hands-on configuration duties within a complex, highly regulated federal financial environment.

Onsite in San Diego

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead configuration, enhancement, and support activities for the SAP FI module, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), and Bank Accounting (BA).
  • Analyze Navy financial business processes and design integrated SAP FI solutions that support audit readiness, funds execution, and financial reporting.
  • Translate business and compliance requirements into detailed system specifications and functional designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional SAP teams (FM, CO, MM, PS) to ensure accurate financial postings and seamless integration with upstream/downstream processes.
  • Support development of financial reports using standard SAP tools and Navy-specific reporting frameworks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SAP FI-related issues, ensuring root cause identification and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Provide audit support, including transaction tracing, reconciliations, documentation, and response to auditor inquiries.
  • Develop user training materials and provide functional guidance to Navy end users and junior analysts.
  • Participate in release management, testing, and change control processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • 10+ years of professional SAP experience with at least 5 years directly supporting the Financial Accounting (FI) module.
  • Proven track record of delivering functional support for large-scale ERP systems within federal environments.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. Government financial management regulations (e.g., FFMIA, FISCAM, FMFIA, USSGL).
  • Experience with Navy ERP (SAP ECC 6.0 or S/4HANA), including support for Navy Working Capital Funds (NWCF) or General Funds (GF).
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in-depth financial reconciliations and provide system solutions for audit findings.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with U.S. Navy financial operations, including BSOs, NWCF, GF, and ERP Business Office operations
  • Familiarity with SAP Public Sector Management (PSM), Funds Management (FM), and integration with ECC or S/4HANA environments.
  • Experience in Agile or hybrid development environments within a government program setting.
  • SAP certification in Financial Accounting or Public Sector Management (PSM-FI).
