Summary
Our client, a leading employee-owned mechanical contractor with nearly a century of industry excellence, is seeking a Mechanical Construction Project Manager to join their San Diego team. Renowned for their commitment to safety, quality, and innovation, the company delivers projects across Healthcare, Life Sciences, Commercial, and Industrial sectors. With advanced capabilities in design/build delivery, sustainable solutions, HVAC systems, and Building Information Modeling (BIM), they provide an environment where technical expertise and leadership thrive.
This role is responsible for managing mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the companys high standards of performance.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of assigned mechanical construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and performance objectives.
- Oversee field operations, including labor productivity, coordination, and quality assurance.
- Manage all financial aspects of projects, including forecasting, cost control, billing, and cash flow.
- Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Administer change orders, maintain accurate project documentation, and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Foster strong client relationships through consistent communication and proactive problem solving.
- Supervise and mentor team members, promoting accountability, professional growth, and collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety programs.
- Perform other related duties as required to support successful project delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 57 years of experience managing mechanical construction projects, preferably within the commercial or industrial sectors.
- Demonstrated success managing complex projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Technical Proficiency
- Skilled in Bluebeam Revu, Vista-Viewpoint (Project Management & Accounting), QuoteSoft Estimating Software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Project, Access, PowerPoint).
