Overview
Engineer Software / Principal Engineer Software - R10211490 at Northrop Grumman. This role is located in Rancho Bernardo, CA. Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance type: Secret. Travel: Yes, 10% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers and provide daily tasking consistent with current priorities
- Maintain an Agile development workflow that is established
- Administration and troubleshooting of Linux (RHEL/CENTOS) 6/7/8 servers and workstations
- Administration and troubleshooting of Windows Server 2008/2016 and Windows 7/10 systems
- Administration and troubleshooting of VMware vSphere systems (VCSA and ESXi)
- Automate system maintenance tasks with scripting tools (PowerShell, Python, Ansible, etc.)
- Enforce cybersecurity compliance through security frameworks and remediation tools (SCC SCAP scanner, STIG Viewer, and Nessus)
- Maintain proper configuration management with engineering document lifecycle tools (Teamcenter Enterprise)
Basic Qualifications
- (Engineer Software) Bachelor's degree in Science/Technology/Engineering/ Mathematics (STEM) and 2+ years of software engineering experience OR a Master's degree in STEM and 0+ years of experience
- (Principal Engineer Software) 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's in STEM (9 years relevant experience without a Bachelor's in STEM); or 2 years relevant experience with a Master's degree in STEM
- Candidate must have, and be able to maintain a US Secret security clearance
- Minimum of 4 years installing, configuring, maintaining and administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6/7/8 servers and workstations
- Minimum of 4 years installing, configuring, maintaining and administering Windows-based servers and workstations
- Meets DoD IAT requirements for security certification for classified systems administrators, or is in the process of obtaining one (Security+, CISSP, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Active US TOP SECRET clearance
- Experience with VMware infrastructure
- Experience with Ansible
- Certification from VMware, Windows (MCSE), and/or Red Hat with Satellite Administration
- US Passport and ability to frequently travel overseas
Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions when determining base salary offers. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
