Overview

We are seeking an experienced and driven Foreign Filing Paralegal Manager to lead our foreign filing paralegal team. This leadership role is essential to ensuring the smooth execution of international patent filings, delivering exceptional client service, and fostering a high-performing team culture. Reporting directly to the IP Operations Manager, the Manager will work closely with attorneys, clients, and administrative staff across multiple offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support foreign paralegals in preparing and filing foreign and PCT patent applications
  • Coordinate communication with international patent offices, foreign counsel, and clients
  • Manage team workflow, assign cases, and ensure timely task completion
  • Monitor billable/non-billable hours, manage leave schedules, and maintain team coverage
  • Provide training, mentorship, and professional development for team members
  • Support onboarding and promote best practices across the team
  • Participate in performance reviews and provide feedback in collaboration with HR and leadership
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Foreign Filing Paralegal Handbook
  • Provide backup support to the team as needed
  • Co-chair the Paralegal Best Practices Committee
  • Take on additional leadership responsibilities as assigned

Top Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in foreign patent filing within a law firm environment
  • Prior leadership experience preferred; exceptional candidates with strong mentoring/training experience will be considered
  • Law firm experience is required; candidates from in-house or corporate settings will not be considered
