Senior Structural Inspector positions train and supervise a group of structural building inspectors who inspect commercial and residential structures for compliance with building, land development, and stormwater codes and regulations; investigate, review, and resolve inspection complaints; provide technical information to contractors, builders, engineers, and the public; prepare written reports; perform the more difficult or problematic structural inspections; evaluate work performance of subordinates; and perform other duties as assigned. NOTES:Eligible benefitted employees originally hired on or after July 10, 2021, will be automatically enrolled in the San Diego City Employees Retirement System (SDCERS). Senior Structural Inspector employees may be required to perform work-related duties in high-rise structures. Senior Structural Inspector employees must have the ability to negotiate rough, uneven terrain, climb ladders and scaffolding, and work at heights.
