Description:

Assistant Director at Hebrew Free Loan of San Diego

Hebrew Free Loan of San Diego (HFLSD) Assistant Director Position

Hebrew Free Loan of San Diego is seeking an entrepreneurial and mission-driven Assistant Director (“AD”). This role will work closely with the Executive Director and the HFLSD team to primarily manage financial operations, while also supporting human resources, HFLSD loan portfolio and donor engagement.

The AD will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organization's financial stability, operational excellence, and mission delivery, helping to steward interest‑free loans responsibly so they can be recycled and re‑lent to serve even more members of the community. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills to learn and increase the effectiveness of the organization's day‑to‑day operations.

This hybrid role is designated to be part‑time (32 hours per week) and offers professional growth, mentorship and the chance to help shape HFLSD's future as a vital resource for San Diego's Jewish community.

Hebrew Free Loan of San Diego (HFLSD) is a dynamic, growing, creative non‑profit dedicated to serving Jewish households in the Greater San Diego community who are living in poverty, facing financial insecurity, or seeking to pursue their dreams to achieve self‑sufficiency through access to interest‑free loans. HFLSD provides a critical hand‑up, not a hand‑out! Grounded in the Jewish values of tzedakah (justice/charity), gemilut hasadim (acts of loving kindness), and tikkun olam (repairing the world), HFLSD provides a wide range of interest‑free loan programs for various needs including life cycle events, small business start‑up or growth expenses, medical expenses, debt consolidation, fertility, summer camp, student loans, and many other loan programs.

Hebrew Free Loan of San Diego (HFLSD) is a member of the International Association of Jewish Free Loans (IAJFL), a network dedicated to helping individuals overcome temporary financial hardships and achieve self‑sufficiency through access to interest‑free loans.
