As a Data Protection & Privacy Senior Associate, you will support processes within the Ethics, Compliance and Risk Management (ECRM) function, contributing to EY's commitment to building a better working world.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Maintain visibility over and perform data protection due diligence activities around business processes and processing activities (e.g., Activity Privacy Impact Assessments).
- Interpret data protection and privacy laws and policies, determine required actions for standard and non‑standard situations, and make recommendations based on firm guidance, professional standards and expertise.
- Conduct data protection due diligence reviews of business processes and data processing activities to ensure compliance with legal/regulatory and EY requirements.
- Develop procedures operationalising data protection compliance measures and monitor adherence to implemented controls.
- Collaborate with functions such as Talent, Finance, Service Line Quality, and business teams to maintain visibility over evolving and new processing activities, embedding Data Protection compliance measures as appropriate.
- Create reports on data protection compliance activities for key stakeholders and senior leaders.
- Document, conduct, and assist with investigations of data incidents; develop remediation plans.
- Maintain EY's confidential and personal information inventory, partner with internal functions to fulfil regulatory requirements.
- Continuously expand knowledge of the field and communicate new developments to program stakeholders and team members.
- Participate in ad‑hoc Data Protection and Privacy projects as needed.

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; graduate degree or Juris Doctor preferred.
- 1–4 plus years of related experience.
- Detail oriented, proactive, and able to influence cross‑functional teams.
Ideally, You'll Have
- Experience reviewing complex data protection and privacy policies and proposing solutions.
- Knowledge of global, national, and local data protection laws and regulations.
- Understanding of technology trends and privacy implications.
- Relevant privacy certification (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CDPSE, AIGP).
