About the Role

We are seeking a Civil Engineer to support our client onsite in La Mesa, CA. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of civil design experience with a strong background in water resources, hydrology, and stormwater design. This role will focus on delivering high-quality engineering solutions for a mix of public and private sector projects, including work with school districts, utilities, municipal agencies, and federal clients.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment, is highly detail-oriented, and has deep knowledge of local San Diego County and California regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, design, and draft civil engineering plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Lead stormwater and hydrology design, including modeling and analysis
  • Conduct construction inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards
  • Prepare calculations, technical reports, and documentation for permitting and updates
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, agencies, utilities, and internal team members
  • Stay current with San Diego County and California requirements for water resources and stormwater management
Requirements

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • 10+ years of civil design experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software
  • Valid California Driver's License
  • Ability to pass a federal background check (Live Scan)
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
  • EIT or Professional Civil Engineering (PE) License
  • Experience with public sector clients such as San Diego Unified School District, U.S. Navy, SDG&E, or the City of San Diego
